Experience Music Lessons With M.E.E.!
We are accepting new students at M.E.E. As the largest Arts Organization for music lessons and art instruction in Jackson, Mississippi, we strive in providing our Mississippi Youth access to Arts Education.
Musical Expressions Experience is cruising into its Spring 2024 session of Classes! If you are interested in Group lessons within our After-School Enrichment Programming or private lessons, please scroll down to submit your information and register for lessons.
GROUP Classes/ Programs: We provide after-school enrichment programs for underserved youth in our targeted communities that combats the twin problems of student disengagement and low academic achievement by creating personalized, project-based learning environments where all students are challenged to achieve high expectations through the arts of music. Group sessions last twelve to fourteen weeks, and at the end of each course, our students showcase what they’ve learned. The course fee is $285.00.
PRIVATE LESSONS: Secure your day and time each week, receive priority scheduling, payments are due on the first of each month, and this is the most cost-effective option. Students taking recurring lessons are considered “tuition students”, and their lessons follow the rates of $42.75 (taxed) for 45-minute lessons and $75 (solid rate) for 60-minute lessons. When a student is absent from a lesson, they have the option of a makeup session on Friday’s or a video from their instructor.
Payment options: Private classes are more cost effective if paid in full each month. We accept weekly payments, however lessons must be paid in full 24 hours before the lesson.
Lessons are available in person and via Zoom! We are able to move a lesson to online at a moment’s notice if needed.
Private lessons
We are now accepting applications for our Private instrument lessons. This application is for both new and returning students. Classes will be held once a week, Monday through Thursday.
Students interested in learning the fundamentals of Violin, Ukulele, Percussion, Guitar, Songwriting and more should complete this application.
Private Instrument lessons are offered to Adults and Youth (Ages 5-18).
Experience Uke’ With M.E.E.
Musical Expressions Experience is now accepting applications for our Fall 2023 after-school enrichment programming! Our newest program that will be offered is titled "Experience Uke' With MEE'', made possible by the Mississippi Arts Commission.
Students within the Jackson, MS, and Metro surrounding area who are interested in learning the fundamentals of the Ukulele should complete this application. For students interested in learning this enjoyable instrument, the ukulele is an ideal starting point! This is an excellent program for first-year students or those with limited experience. This program will be open to children aged 6 to 18 years old.
Classes will be held twice a week. Each day will be spent learning the fundamentals of the ukulele, such as simple chords, strumming patterns, reading ukulele tablature, and learning basic melodies. At the end of this ten-week program, students will host a mini performance of songs learned over the course of programming. Your student will want to start their own ukulele band by the end of the course!
Student Scholarship
Student sponsorships are available for students who wish to participate in our group classes or Saturday sessions program. If a student wishes to apply for a sponsorship, he or she must submit an essay explaining why arts education is important to them and what being a part of Musical Expressions Experience would mean to them. The essays will be read and voted on the Musical Expressions Experience committee.

Explore, Private, and Adventure
M.E.E. EXPLORE
Developing excellent foundations in both the musical and intellectual arts. Our Explore program is designed for young people who are interested in learning the fundamentals of music theory and exploring their instrument of choice. Explore is for students who are new to our program and want to learn more about it. Come Explore with M.E.E!
M.E.E. PRIVATE LESSONS
Applications for our Spring 2023 private instrument classes are now being accepted. K through Adults interested in studying the fundamentals of chosen instrument, music production or songwriting should apply here! This Fall, we will offer both virtual and in-person choices for our classes. This may change depending on the recommendations from local officials and the World Health Organization concerning COVID-19.
M.E.E. ADVENTURE
Developing artistic abilities and exposure to a wide range of cultural arts. Musical Expressions Experience classes are held once a week for students in grades 7-12. Students can choose from a wide range of supplemental music classes and composer catalogs to help them improve their instrument and performance skills. Students are exposed to a variety of musical styles from around the globe. Come Adventure with M.E.E!

M.E.E. Strings
Festive Beginner Strings, is our entry-level group music program which features a special curriculum designed for 3rd through 12th grade students. Students will attend sessions twice a week to explore classical music pieces written by various cultured composers to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and foundational music skills through play. Interactive activities and exercises will be used throughout the sessions to help the students maintain materials. All string instruments listed above.

Music Production & Songwriting
Music Production is a music program designed for 6th through 12th grade students, preferably students without any previous musical experience. Students will attend group sessions once a week where they will learn production fundamentals such as beat making, recording, jingles and track structure. The Production Program is designed to spark a passion in students, while helping perfect their skills through learning and experimenting with multiple techniques as they progress through the scheduled sessions.

M.E.E. Percussion
M.E.E. Percussion, is our beginner music program which features a special curriculum designed for 3rd through 12th grade students. Students will attend weekly sessions covering basic strokes, timing, two height control, paradiddles, rolls and flams, the exercises included here are specifically designed to provide the beginning to intermediate drum line with a solid foundation for building individual and ensemble technique.

In-School Presentations
