Our Team

Chelsea Young

Founder, Executive Director

Chelsea Young, a native of Jackson, MS is a female Hip Hop artist from Jackson, MS. Raised in a musically inclined environment, Ms. Young also known as “BabycDaRealist” was exposed to the culture of Hip Hop/Gospel music at an early age. Because of this, she was able to realize her love for musicianship and perfect her musical talents by learning multiple instruments and styles of music. By being exposed to more musical traits, she developed her own personal style of songs during her years of college which can be described as nurturing contemporary music.

Ms. Young earned a B.S. Degree in Entertainment Industry Studies and Entrepreneurship (2016) and Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entertainment Industry Studies (2020) from Delta State University. Young, has worked to advance the importance of Arts Education. Over the past eight years, she has worked with different arts organizations in the Mississippi Delta region, striving to connect with and empower the students of those organizations through the arts.

With instructing lessons from songwriting to music production and even private lessons, Young’s greatest inspiration is sharing her craft with students who share the same interests and even introducing the passion to students who have no experience with the arts.

Young has had the fortunate opportunity to pilot her first violin program through a Delta organization, where she built partnerships with other arts organizations throughout the Mississippi Delta region. Her inspiration for the violin started when she was a younger elementary student of the Jackson, MS Public School District. Young strived to introduce another culture of music to students in the Delta region and to provide them with a dynamic learning experience that will instill an appreciation for the arts.

Through this very passion, Musical Expressions Experience was created where she will continue to share her craft with inspiring young musicians in desired communities of the Jackson, MS and Mississippi Delta region.
